The Rosengarten Schlern Sky Marathon is organized by the OK team in cooperation with the Tourist Association Tiers and the main sponsor DYNAFIT.

Race route
Long Route (red) over 45 km and 2.980 metres of altitude difference - no asphalt
Short Route (blue) over 36 km und 1.908 metres of altitude difference
In case of thunderstorm, all runners will be detoured to the short route.
For safety reasons, in case of snow in altitude there might be some small route changes.

CHRONOMETRY
Chronometry is carried out electronically by DATASPORT AG with an integrated chip in the race bib.
If the participant enters his mobile number when registering, he will receive his running time free of charge via SMS.
BAD WEATHER ALTERNATIVE
In case of bad weather (fog/thunderstorm) the race will be started at 8.00 a.m. and this route (29.5 km) will be run as an alternative to the 36 km and the 45 km:
St. Zyprian, Nigerpass, Messner Joch, Hanicker Schwaige, Plafötsch, Tschamin Schwaige, Wuhn Leger, Tschafon, Schönblick, Sauböden, Tiers.
Race entry - limit 500 - entry free
CLOSING DATE: 12 am the day before the race
Race entry can be made online via Datasport at www.datasport.com and is only valid after receipt of the entry fee and medical certificate.
LIMITED STARTING PLACES
A maximum of 500 people can register for the race.
The organiser reserves the right not to accept additional registrations and to adjust the maximum number of participants. The date of registration applies.
DATASPORT AG offers the possibility of taking out a cancellation insurance policy. This will enable reimbursement of the entry fee in the event of illness or injury.
In justified cases (injury, illness) the race number can be transferred to a person of youe choice until 12 noon on the day before the race for a re-registration fee of € 10,00.

Conditions of partecipation
All national and foreign athletes who have reached the age of 18 on the day of the race and have submitted a medical certificate within 12 noon on the day before the race and took out FISKY assurance are eligible to participate.
Participants residing in Italy must submit a sports medical certificate for athletics/trailrunning issued by the sports physician and valid on the day of the race according to Art. 5 -D.M.18.02.1982.
Participants residing abroad must submit a medical certificate valid on the day of the race in accordance with the legal regulations in force in Italy. A copy of the medical certificate can be downloaded HERE.
The Skymarathon Rosengarten Schlern takes place in demanding, alpine terrain and requires:

The race management is authorized to disqualify athletes who do not meet these criteria at any time of the race.
Race bib - race pack - briefing
HERE YOU GET YOUR RACE PACK WITH RACE BIB

• Day before the race 4:00 - 9:00 pm
• Race Day 5:30 - 6:30 am
The race bib must be attached to the front of the body in a clearly visible position at all times.
The entry fee includes:
- race pack with sponsor gifts
- Finisher medal
- use of the aid stations
- access to the sanitary and rest zone in the finish area
- free shuttle service between finish and starting area
- free parking
- 1 drink and 1 meal in the finish area at the summer party
- bag depot in the race office or return transport of the marked runner’s bags from the starting area to the race office.
No valuables or fragile objects should be stored in the runner's bags. The organiser is not responsible for any items lost or damaged during the return transport to the race office.
BRIEFING
6:45 am in the starting area on the race day . Participation is compulsory.

The AWARD CEREMONY takes place approximately 3 hours after the finish of the first runner.
After the award ceremony prizes provided by the sponsors will be raffled among all PRESENT ATHLETES.
Prizes will be awarded to:
the first classified woman/man of the long and short route - overall classification
the first 3 classified women/men of the long and short route - categories
Time limit - retirement from race - disqualification
TIME LIMIT
The cut off time is set at 10 hours, whereby the checkpoint "Grasleiten Kessel" after Passo Principe must be reached by 12.30 pm at the latest.
Participants of the long route who reach this checkpoint after 12.30 pm will be redirected to the short route and WILL BE ASSESSED ANYWAY IF THEY EXPLICITLY COMUNICATE THEIR BIB NUMBER TO THE RACE COMMISSIONERS.
Participants who exceed 10 hours will not be classified.
RETIREMENT FROM THE RACE
If athletes retire from the race, they are obliged to inform the next marshal or contact the race management by telephone +39 335 6181972 / +39 335 7588299.
DISQUALIFICATION
Each participant must adhere to the marked course. Any deviation from the course will be punished with disqualification. The checkpoints must be passed. If a runner does not pass a checkpoint, he will be disqualified.
Runners who reach the checkpoint at the Cigolade Pass after 12 noon will be removed from the classification for safety reasons, their start number will be confiscated and from this point on the organiser will no longer be responsible for their safety.

At the various refreshment stations will be offered bananas, lemons, oranges, melons, cucumbers, biscuits, pretzel sticks, chocolate, dried fruit, bread with Nutella, Edam and Parmesan cheese. There are no gels available.
Drinks include fresh spring water from our Dolomites, Coca Cola and Isostar drink, as well as black tea at the Roda de Vael Hut and at Tireser Alpl.
Despite refreshment stations, the principle of partial self-supply prevails.
Each participant must carry a drinking cup or suitable drinking container.
Equimpent
The Rosengarten Schlern Skymarathon takes place in alpine terrain and it is recommended to adapt the equipment to the meteorological conditions and to take the following things with you:
- backpack or bum bag
- wind breaker
- drinking cup (see section UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE)
- mobile phone always switched on and charged

- food supply to last until the next refreshment station
- cap, headband or other head protection
- first aid kit: sterile compresses, bandages, plasters, foil blanket
UNESCO World Heritage
The Rosengarten has been a World Heritage Site since 2009 and for this reason dureing the Rosengarten Schlern Skymarathon the respectful treatment of nature is more important than sporting ambition.
Each participant should bring their own drinking cup with them, as food and drink is administered unpackaged at the refreshment stations along the route in order to avoid rubbish. It is forbidden to throw away rubbish and leads to disqualification.
Safety - interruption or cancellation of the race
SAFETY
The Mountain Rescue Service is positioned along the course for the safety of the athletes, first aid or evacuation in an emergency. The organisers will decide on the rescue measures to be taken. According to valid regulations, any costs incurred during rescue operations will be borne by the participant in question.
Should an athlete not finish the race for various reasons, he will be responsible for his return. In case of an emergency, he can call 112 directly or contact Race Management on +39 335 7588299.
Safely on the move in the mountains as a member of Aiut Alpin.
We recommend to take out an accident insurance covering helicopter rescue.
INTERRUPTION OR CANCELLATION OF THE RACE
The race director decides together with the mountain rescue service wether to interrupt or cancel the race in case of bad weather conditions.
In case of a shortening of the course or cancellation of the race due to force majeure, the registration fee will NOT be refunded and will not be credited for the following year.
Arrival and departure as well as accommodation are at the participants' own expense and risk. In the event of cancellation or shortening of the route, no liability is assumed for this.
Privacy
The participant authorizes the transfer of his personal data to third parties for processing purposes in accordance with Legislative Decree no. 196, art. 13, 2003 and EU Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of personal data and grants the organiser the right to publish individual images and/or videos free of charge and without time or place limits.
In addition, the participant authorizes the organiser and its partners to pass on data, images/videos to third parties and to publish them in their own channels and in all local, national and international media.

Liability and declaration of responsability
With the registration for the race the participant accepts the regulations of the event and declares that he takes part in the race on his own responsibility. He further declares that he is at least 18 years old on the day of the race and that he has the necessary physical and psychological abilities to cope with the Rosengarten Schlern Sky Marathon.
He declares that he is in possession of a valid medical certificate and that he knows that the race will take place up to a maximum altitude of 2,601 metres and that he will have to master more than 2,000 and 3,000 metres of altitude respectively on the two courses, which could entail health risks.
The organizer cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage to any person or thing whatsoever. Each participant also recognizes the exclusion of liability of the sponsors, the local communities and the owners of private roads for damages of any kind that may arise through participation in the race. No liability will be accepted for lost items.
